Chief Del Riley is a Hereditary Chief of the Crane Clan of the Chippewa Nation and the last President of the National Indian Brotherhood. Among his achievements was the development and negotiation of Sections 25 and 35 of the Canadian Constitution which enshrine the protection of Aboriginal and Treaty Rights in Canada.
Chief Riley and members of the Micmac Rights Association will be speaking in support of the Amu Leaf Truckhouse located at 14 Highfield Park Dr. in Dartmouth. The Truckhouse operates in accordance with the Mi’kmaq Peace and Friendship treaties made with the British Crown, and sells a wide variety of Mi’kmaq trade goods including indigenous cannabis products. It was raided by Halifax Police / RCMP on January 31st.
