Chief Del Riley Book Launch – 6pm Tuesday Oct 11
Chief Del Riley is a Hereditary Chief of the Crane Clan of the Chippewa Nation and the last President of the National Indian Brotherhood. A BBQ and music will accompany this event. Signed books are $25 each.
This event will take place in the upstairs of the High Grade Smoke Shop in Millbrook First Nation 171 Abenaki Rd. Millbrook First Nation.

Meeting goes all day, and is open to all Mi’kmaq who wish to fight for our rights. There will be door prizes and a light lunch will be served. Register here to attend the meeting.
This event will take place in the upstairs of the High Grade Smoke Shop in Millbrook First Nation 171 Abenaki Rd. Millbrook First Nation.
What is going on with Millbrook First Nation? – 6pm Thurs Oct 13
The Chief and Council at Millbrook First Nation have been making some highly questionable decisions concerning your Treaty and Aboriginal Rights. On July 27, 2022, a minority of Millbrook First Nation Chief and Council members excluded five Councillors from a council meeting and passed a motion “banning” the sale of Mohawk tobacco on the territory, stating that they would call the RCMP to raid shops that continued to sell sovereign Indigenous tobacco. As a consequence of this motion, on October 5th, the RCMP escorted Provincial authorities into Cole Harbour to seize sovereign native tobacco in a raid on High Grade Smoke Shop.
On August 18th, Band Council Executive Director Claire Marshall directed workers escorted by the RCMP to steal over $10,000 of gravel that Band Member Thomas Durfee was using to establish a Truck Shop. Marshall cited the Millbrook Development Moratorium By Law as justification for her actions. This bylaw is based on a court ruling made more than 40 years ago when racism against Indigenous people ran rampant, and before Canada gave protection to Aboriginal and Treaty Rights through Sections 25 and 35 of the Constitution.
At 6pm on Wednesday, Oct 12th join former National Chief Del Riley and Councilors from Millbrook First Nation to discuss the nature of “individual and collective” Aboriginal and Treaty Rights, and what can be done to hold Chief and Council accountable to the people of Millbrook First Nation.
